Evangelist Prakash Yesudian enters heavenThe fiery and gifted Evangelist Prakash Yesudian entered heavenly rest on July 22, 2014. He breathed his last at a private hospital in Chennai. He was born in 1944. His parents hailed from Kumarapuram Thoppur in Kanyakumari District. During his college days at the American College in Madurai, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. At a young age, he committed his life to the Lord’s work.
In 1965, he joined ‘Youth for Christ’ and served the Lord in Palayamkottai, Nagercoil, Madurai, Thiruvananthapuram, etc. He worked in various capacities in Christhuvukku Sthanapathi and Bethel Agricultural Fellowship. His radio programmes in Tamil, ‘Sathiya Vasanam’, ‘Aradhanai Velai’ and ‘Eleventh Hour’ presented Jesus Christ and His Gospel to people from various walks of life. He served as Director of Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) Life Focus Society.
He wrote his first book "Launch Out" based on his Ministry experience, which was published by Friends Missionary prayer Band and later, the same book grew into a bigger volume titled ‘Fishers of Men’ has published in 1994. He also wrote “the Practical Evangelism: Tools for Communicating the Good News Effectively in a Changing World” published by Haggai Institute in 2001.
He was also a popular Christian lyricist. Some of his well-known songs include ‘Yesu podhumae’, Enakkai jeevan vittavare ennodirukka ezhunthavare’ and ‘Ulagor unnai pagaithaalum unmaiyai anbu kooruvaayaa’. He was 70. He is survived by his wife Rani Yesudian, children Shiny Yesudian Abraham and Billy Yesudian. Prakash Yesudian’s eldest brother is Y Thangabose, Founder of ABC Prayer Fellowship in Chennai.
