Radicals beaten a Pastor in IndiaA group of Hindu radicals, belonging to RSS and BJP, have beaten up Pastor Robinson Thankamani who is in charge of an independent church called House Missionary Society Church, on Sunday, 5th August 2012, at 3.15 pm when the pastor was walking towards his church from his residence for a prayer meeting in his Church in Marthandam, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu in India.

Pastor Robinson Thankamani

On Sunday, 5th August 2012, at 3.15 pm Pastor Robinson Thankamani, was walking towards his church from his residence for a prayer meeting in his church, a group of radicals led by Mr. Vishwanath and Mr. Kasisan, belong to RSS and BJP. Seeing the pastor being beaten up by the Hindu radicals, the believers who were waiting for him in the church, rushed out of the church and went for his rescue and saved the Pastor from further attack. The wounded pastor was admitted to the Kulithara Government hospital and then again he was shifted to Asaripallam Medical College Hospital as he needed more specialized treatment. He is still undergoing treatment in the hospital for internal injuries. Local Police in Marthandam, Kanyakumari have registered a case against the attackers.

He is in charge of an independent church called House Missionary Society Church in Marthandam, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu in India. He has a congregation of about 50 believers and they conduct the worship services twice a week, on Sundays and Fridays and also assemble in the church for meetings and prayer programmes. On the 5th of August, the pastor was going to attend a prayer meeting in the church when he was waylaid by the Hindu radicals. So far no arrests have been made.
