APFC demands to guarantee the Security of ChristiansA delegation of Andhra Pradesh Federation of Churches (APFC), which is a state-level apex body of Archbishops, Bishops and Heads of mainline Churches and major Christian Denominations representing the Christian Community in the Indian State of Andhra Pradesh had a meeting with Chief Minister of the State, Kiran Kumar Reddy at Hyderabad on January 31, 2014. The delegation was led by President of APFC, Archbishop Thumma Bala. The delegation included Moderator of Church of South India - Most Rev. Dr. D. Dyvasirvadam, Executive Secretary of APFC- Fr Dr Anthoniraj Thumma, Coordinators Fr Maddu Bala and Rev. Kurunadihi and others submitted memorandums to the Chief Minister on the issues of the Christian Community in the State.

The memorandum displeasured that Mumbai Police has failed to arrest the culprits who involving one Christian girl, Esther Anuhya’s murder case who was raped before being killed and burnt. It demanded that the case is handed over to the CBI for proper investigation into her rape and murder.
The memorandum further states that the members of Hindu Vahini group were arrested last month for the murder of Pastor Sanjeevulu of Vikarabad in Ranga Reddy district and attacks on many Pastors in Nalgonda district, who also had claimed to have killed four pastors in 2004-05. It appeals to ensure the ban of Hindu Vahini and other terrorist groups to guarantee the security of Christians and other Minorities.
The delegates urged the Chief Minister to take up further action on their demands for which he responded positively. The members of the delegation also had the opportunity to have dialogue with Sri Parthasarathi, Minister for School Education, who assured to follow up the matter. Later, they took part and spoke in the Protest Rally and Public Meeting held at Indira Park on the atrocities committed on women particularly on Ms Esther Anuhya and on the Minorities particularly on Pastor Sanjeevulu.
